Shakespeares and sgh Martineau set to complete merger next week

Law firms Shakespeares and sgh Martineau are set to complete their merger next week (15 June) in a deal that will create a combined turnover of £75m.

The merged firm – to be called Shakespeare Martineau – will employ 900 people across offices in Birmingham, Leicester, London, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon, Sheffield and Brussels.

“Each firm currently excels in distinct sectors and, combined, will strengthen their offering of a compelling service for existing and prospective clients,” the firms said.

SGH Martineau has a particularly strong reputation in the education sector, while Shakespeares is rated for its social housing and not-for-profit practice.
