Government issues policy note on requirement to use Contracts Finder

The Crown Commercial Service has issued a policy note on the requirement for contracting authorities to ensure that any procurement opportunities and contract awards above certain thresholds are published on the Contracts Finder site.

The CCS said it wanted to remind public bodies of their requirements under regulations 106, 108, 110 and 112 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The requirements have been effect since 26 February 2015.

The thresholds are:

  • Central contracting authorities: £10,000;
  • Sub central contracting authorities and NHS trusts: £25,000.

The CCS added that the policy note, which can be viewed here, was directly applicable to central government, agencies, non-departmental public bodies, the wider public sector, local authorities and NHS bodies. Certain bodies including maintained schools, academies and sixth form college corporations are exempt.

Contracts Finder was relaunched in February 2015 with a view to it becoming the single, central repository for public sector tenders.
