Islington and Shoreditch joins Housing Associations Legal Alliance

Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association has joined the Housing Associations Legal Alliance (HALA), bringing the number of members of the organisation to 11.

HALA was formed in 2010 for the purpose of ensuring greater value for money in the delivery of legal services to its members, who include Viridian Housing, Network Housing Group, Saxon Weald Housing Association and Octavia Housing. Membership is open to providers of social housing in England and Wales.

In December 2014 HALA named 11 law firms across three lots on its revised solicitors panel.

Eusebio Barata, Interim Director of Customer Operations at ISHA, said: “HALA is a well-managed consortium who impressed us with their commitment to delivering high quality legal services at value for money rates. We are delighted to be part of this innovative group.”

Kennedy Cater manages the cost and quality of the legal services provided to HALA.

Helen Edwards, Client Services Director at the specialist legal consultancy, said: “In addition to reduced legal fees and cost controls, HALA offers a bespoke annual training programme that is incredibly popular with members. Last year 192 delegates attended 11 sessions with a total calculated saving of £21,000.”
