Wales Audit Office seeks legal advisers for £250-500k of work over four years

The Wales Audit Office is to set up a legal services framework worth between £250,000 and £500,000 over a four-year period.

The framework, which will have a maximum of eight participants, will provide legal advice and related services to both the Auditor General for Wales (AGW), the statutory auditor of most public bodies in Wales, and the WAO, the public body responsible for providing resources to the Auditor General for the exercise of his functions.

The first lot covers audit law. This will include advice on the statutory powers and duties of the AGW, such as those that relate to: the audit of accounts or financial statements of public bodies; value for money studies and examinations of public bodies; certification of grants and returns; determining the legality of actions taken by public authorities audited by the AGW; and the access rights of the AGW to documents and information.

The second lot covers general business administration, while the third lot covers employment law.

The agreement will start on 25 May 2015.
