Marine Management Organisation faces judicial review over dredging licence award

A High Court judge has given permission for campaigners to bring judicial review proceedings against the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) over its grant of a marine licence for dredging.

The licence allows dredging to be undertaken at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Devonport, with disposal at the Rame Head South disposal site.

A full hearing of the application will take place in due course.

The MMO said: “The order received from the court acknowledges the need for maintenance dredging in relation to HMNB Devonport.

“As proceedings are ongoing the MMO has no further comment to make at this stage.”
